We have been busy supporting some of our extended family for the last couple of weeks. When we first began, our to-do list consisted of only a few things. Nothing major… just a couple of tasks we thought might help ease the load of life!
As we went on, days went by, sleeves rolled up, hands got dirty and do you know what? It wasn’t long before the work turned into a lot of fun!
Alongside a few other family members, we brainstormed together, laughed, and celebrated after every task. By the time we were finished, we had far surpassed the couple of small things we had set out to do!
“Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.”
– Galatians 6:2
We were united by love to share in this burden!!!
“If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.”
– Galatians 6:3
We worked together by utilizing one another’s strengths. No one was too good for one job or the other!!!
“For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your life to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.”
– Hebrews 6:10
God blessed us tenfold through this process – The situation presented a beautiful opportunity for everyone involved!!!
Some were served…
Some were humbled…
Some gave…
Some received…
But in the end, we were ALL reminded what it means to share in one another’s burdens with love and kindness.
Take heart in this today, whether you’re on the giving or receiving end! Our God is not unjust and he will never forget how hard you have worked for him!
