Good Morning
A couple of nights ago, I was dealing with some high anxiety. I reached out to a friend and asked for prayers. She responded by sharing Philippians 4:6-8.
I’m sure many of you have read and studied this verse, but I wanted to share it in The Message Version.
Often times I’ll look at different versions of a verse when I'm struggling. A specific word or sentence can really help me stay focused and often times speak strongly to my weary soul!
“Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns.
Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious - the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.”
Now I want you to go back and reread this verse. Try to pick out one word or sentence to tuck into your heart and recite it throughout your day!
I’m choosing “filling”
Might sound a bit odd.
But the truth is, I need to be mindful of what I’m taking in and what voice I’m listening to?
The enemy would love to trap us with "what if's” and keep us busy, by worrying about things that hold no significance.
So, let’s take those thoughts captive, make them obedient to Christ and replace them with TRUTH
He stands by you
You’re never alone
He’s on your side
He believes you're more than enough
He has chosen and treasures you
He believes in you
He sees your potential
He will remain steadfast when you stumble
These give me a lump in my throat!
They’re so powerful and so true
Have a great day and know I love that you’re here:)
