Daily Devotionals

My schedule feels crazy.
It’s basically nonstop from now until New Years.
In fact, I’m a bit overwhelmed at the amount that I have to do in the next few weeks.
Can anyone relate?
I love Christmas but it’s definitely extra!!!
Amidst the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, I find it so easy to get distracted from what really matters and drown in my to-do list! Before I know it, Christmas doesn’t even feel like it’s about celebrating Jesus’ birth or the God who made a way for us to be with him.
However, I know this truth: He is worthy… all the time!
So… I want to invite you to join me today in taking a pause, putting aside all the tasks, and praising God for his majesty. It feels like the opposite of what a person should do when they are drowning in work or holiday tasks, but it’s the best move we can make with our time.
Psalm 8:1-9 proclaims:
“O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens.
You have taught children and infants to tell of your strength, silencing your enemies and all who oppose you.
When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers- the moon and the stars you set in place-
what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?
Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor.
You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority-
the flocks and the herds and all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents.
O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!”
Let’s be international this festive season to spend time in worship and praise, even if we feel busy or overwhelmed by how much we need to do.
Praising him is always worth the time!
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for loving me so much that you sent Jesus to earth to save me. Thank you for making a way where there was no way. Your glory is matchless and your righteousness knows no end. You are more majestic than the mountains and more glorious than the setting sun. You deserve all of the glory, honor and praise! Help me to focus on you even when I am busy, that I may be a reflection of your love this Christmas.
Amen
We are better together.
