Happy Friday, Ladies… & Happy August
As a homeschooler, our morning routine is essential to me. We don’t just focus on academic learning, we focus on healthy living!
For instance, once our beds are made and our teeth are brushed, we grab our water and head outside! We allow our bodies, brains, and mood to wake up slowly, say our morning prayers, and set our intentions for the day! Sometimes it’s five minutes, sometimes it’s an hour.
I don’t push that.
I do my part to get us out there and invite God in, and He does the rest!
Yesterday it was sprinkling so I opened our front door and positioned ourselves where we had a little coverage from the rain. It didn’t take long for our seven-year-old to stick her feet out to touch the rainfall, then her legs, then her arms, and soon she was soaked.
As I sat cross-legged, sipping my coffee, tucked in from the rain, I soaked in this moment I know I’ll cherish forever. I was surrounded by the sound of fresh falling rain, in 70* degree weather, as I witnessed my daughter’s heart pour out for Jesus.
“Good Morning, Jesus”, she sang!
“We love you, Jesus”, she said as she cartwheeled around!
“Thank you for this day”, she shouted as she jumped off the step!
Is there a better way to start the day than this? Not in my book.
“So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew 18:4
“One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.” Matthew 19:13-15
• Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven!
• The Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children!
I don’t believe Jesus has favorite prayers but I’m pretty sure His heart danced with joy as a little girl praised him for simply another day! … And a rainy, summer one at that! How many praise-worthy adults rolled out of bed with a bad attitude because the weather wasn’t what they hoped for?
Let’s make our morning prayers look more like this, Amen?
No matter the weather (or circumstance)… Let us praise Him!
