Daily Devotionals
Friday, December 13, 2024 (Ashley)
Between the full calendars and the to-do lists, the holiday season can leave us running ragged.
If we’re not careful, the hours turn into days and before we know it, Christmas will have come and gone.
I’ve noticed that when I’m in a hurry, things seem to slip by me without much notice. Intentionality can go out the window and I can find myself going through the motions on autopilot.
I don’t know about you but that’s not the way I want to show up for my life… especially at Christmas time!
There is one thing I’ve found to truly help with this – it’s PRAISE
Praising God not only changes your heart but it improves your mood! When your mind is focused on God’s glory and wonder, your faith grows and so does your JOY!
It takes some practice but once you’re in the habit, it’s hard not to praise him for the many blessings that flow through your life on the daily!
The Doxology comes to mind Take a moment and PRAISE him with these lyrics below –
“Praise God from whom all blessings flow,
Praise Him all creatures here below,
Priase Him above ye heavenly host,
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
Amen”
His glories are everywhere!
Sometimes it’s harder for us to see them than others. If you’re in a time of grief or darkness, ask him to open your eyes and heart to the many blessings around you.
They are there!
And so is he!
Merry Christmas,
Ashley
