Stuck in the Mud?
The other night when my brother-in-law left our house, he thought it would be a good idea to use the turnaround in our yard… it was not a good idea. Our yard is WET and it didn’t take him long to realize that he was stuck in the mud with his big truck, leaving quite the mess. Being the good guy that he is, he insisted on coming back in the daylight to even out the ruts he left behind.
Sure enough, he showed up and used a handy dandy tool to scrape all the mud back together, pack it down, and even it out. “I’m sorry about the mess”, he said. My husband and I looked at each other and said, “Hey– It’ll probably grow better grass in a couple of months anyways!”
Isn’t this a little like life sometimes?
Perhaps you thought something was a good idea, only to find yourself in a rut of trouble. And then attempting to get out of that trouble just led to a bigger and bigger mess! Can anyone relate? Maybe that’s even where you find yourself right now?
But when we bring our troubles to God, and look at them in the “day-light”, if you will… solutions are presented and a plan to clean up the mess appears! For a while, the marks are still obviously noticeable but soon enough, the grass begins to grow and God does something NEW with the struggle!
I know that in a couple months, there will hardly be any evidence that these big ruts were ever even there. There’s even a possibility that better grass will grow because of it! And the trials in your life are the same way!
Invite God in to provide a solution and a plan and be ready to get to work!
