Good Morning, Everyone
I want to share something from Bible study that really hit me. We were asked this question: When you think about your prayer life, what do you thank God for or ask Him for in your life? Earthly things or spiritual blessings? Not going to lie, my answer was earthly.
This question stuck with me all week. Then the weekend came, and our girls were at a barrel race. One of the girls did well and actually won a buckle, but another was disappointed in her runs and performance. As we were driving home, she was quiet and tearful. In that moment, I remembered the question, and I began thanking God—not for the buckle, but for knowing her future and what perseverance and strength she’ll need in the days and years to come.
I get tearful even typing this because, as a mama, I would have normally prayed differently. But focusing on that question shifted my prayers, and a peace washed over me like never before. I felt so calm and was able to pass that peace along to her.
So may I challenge you today to shift your prayers. Instead of focusing on the things right in front of us, let’s focus on the bigger picture—the spiritual growth, the strength, and the perseverance God is building within us. Trust that He knows our future, and He’s working in ways we can’t always see. Keep looking to Him, because His plans are always greater than anything we could ask for ourselves
