Every year about this time, I like to post my favorite Psalm. It’s been my favorite for about 15 years… and it holds a special place in my heart.

It serves to remind me to always keep God #1 in my life. To make sure that I desire him above anything else in this world.

15 years ago, I was actually not walking in faith. I had gone through some really difficult life circumstances and was mad at God for not fixing them. Instead of trusting him, I chose to go my own way… living a life that was not pleasing to him at all.

I chased everything that the world said would make me happy- money, fame, material possessions, and pleasure.

It didn’t work.

Nothing in this world could fix the pain and heartache I was running from.

One sweet summer day, about 15 years ago, I bottomed out. I realized that apart from God, there was no hope and no goodness in my life. I fell to my knees and asked the Lord to please be my Heavenly Father once again. Immediately, I could feel his love and grace pour out!

I found a church to attend and started reading my Bible for the first time. Psalm 63 was one of the first ones I read, and it has become a VIP passage for me:

Psalm 63:1-8 proclaims:
“O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.
I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory.
Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you!
I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.
You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy.
I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night.
Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely.”

I share this Psalm because it is my hope and prayer that we would be a group of women who desire the Lord above everything else. That we would hunger and thirst for him and always keep him in the #1 spot.

He is the only thing that truly satisfies.

Let’s pray:

Heavenly Father,
There is no one like you! You alone are the source of all Hope and all Joy and all peace. You alone are worthy of all our devotion! Thank you for loving us and caring about us no matter what is happening in our lives. Help us to make you our greatest desire. Put in our hearts a passion for you that never grows dim.
We love you more than anything on earth!
Amen.

We are better together!
❤️Mint
