Have you heard the saying, “Be kind. Everyone is facing a hard battle?”

The older I get, the more I realize how true it is.

Everyone has a battle. And our kindness towards them matters. No one should have to battle alone.

So, let me ask you, Sweet friend: “what trial are you facing today?”

Are you weary?
Are you discouraged?
Are you waiting on a miracle?
Are you overwhelmed?
Are you anxious?
Is work too stressful?
Is money too tight?
Is that relationship too broken?
Is your child too far away?

Whatever it may be, the trials of life are never easy. Most days, I wish we didn’t have these battles. I’d prefer life to be easy and joyful!

This morning as I was reading my Bible, I was struck by the promise in this passage regarding our earthly battles:

1 Peter 1:6-7 NLT
“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold-though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.”

I love this verse because it reminds me that there is purpose in our battles! They prove my faith and make me more like Jesus. I get an eternal reward that is beyond compare if I can persevere through them.

Victory is ahead!

That doesn’t make my battles any easier, but it does help me know that the fight is in not in vain. This morning, this passage was just the boost I needed to keep going in a difficult season.

It got me thinking, who else do I know that needs to be encouraged this morning? Who else is fighting a battle and could use a boost of truth? Who else I can show kindness too?

Friends, let’s be kind to each other in the moments we need it most! Here are a few practical ways:

1. Call someone and ask how they are really doing and offer to pray for them.
2. Send someone a sweet message telling them how proud you are of them in a difficult season.
3. Venmo someone money for dinner so they don’t have to cook, or drop a home cooked meal off at their doorstep. Help lighten the load!
4. Share today’s scripture truth… victory is ahead! The fight is not in vain! Keep going!

Love you, friends! Keep battling.
We are better together!
❤️Mint
