GOOD MORNING
Yesterday, I had the gift of a few hours alone with my youngest daughter, Cora. As we drove to pick up my oldest, she said, “Mommy, today was the best day ever! I loved spending the day with you!” Her sweet words touched me deeply, especially because we didn’t do anything extravagant. We were simply together—cuddling, talking, and just enjoying each other’s company without distractions.
As I thought about her sweet comment, it made me reflect on my relationship with Jesus. How often do we overcomplicate our time with Him? Do we intentionally set aside moments just for Him, uninterrupted, free from distractions? I know that as a mama, when I get one on one time with my kids, they open up in ways they don’t when we’re caught up in the busyness of life. They share more, love more, and make me feel so cherished with their words. I truly believe Jesus feels the same way when we set aside time just to be with Him.
Jesus truly delights in us. He wants to hear our hearts, to share in our lives, and to fill us with His love. He longs for that connection, and as a jealous God, He desires to be the focus of our attention.
So after this time with Cora, I felt challenged. I want Him to feel as loved and cherished as Cora made me feel yesterday. So, I’m asking myself—and inviting you to consider with me: Do we prioritize time alone with Jesus? Time to just be with Him, uninterrupted and fully present?
Let’s not overcomplicate our relationship with Him. He loves us deeply and longs for our attention. Let’s make time to be with Him, just the two of us, and lean into that quiet, beautiful connection
